The calm before the storm. YUMMY!  All kinds of sweets - just waiting for the crowd to arrive! Many of our food vendors used the opportunity to educate the public about their goods and services. The Heart of Virginia Free Clinic was last year's recipient of the proceeds from Taste of Farmville. The most popular food booth of the night was The Fishin' Pig, scheduled to open March 1st. The Prince Edward Ruritan Club once again served their world famous Bananas Foster.  Attendees wait all year for this delicious treat!  The Ruritan Club has never missed participating in a single Taste of Farmville.  Thanks for sticking with us, guys! People everywhere!  And yet, plenty of room to move around, thanks to the huge STEPS Centre.  2013 was the second year the Taste of Farmville has been there. Meals on Wheels (MOW) once again served their famous chicken salad.  Shown are Meals on Wheels Board members Jane Schirmer (L) and Bertha Richardson.  MOW, along with FACES, was a recipient of this year's proceeds. Jerry Stuart (L), owner and operator of Fourth Street Motors, is shown manning his booth of delicious meatballs and brownies. A crowd shot from a different angle.  What better place to be on a cold January evening? More folks enjoying themselves. The Ruritan club in action (notice the flames in the photo).  Ruritan Don Gantt is shown creating a bananas foster masterpiece. With so many food vendors, there usually isn't much of a line.  Besides, most people eat while they're in line, so who cares?  Ha! We're always trying to Even though the 2013 Taste of Farmville was delayed by one week due to bad weather, we still had one of our biggest crowds ever!  Over 600 people attended! Rotarian Cannon Watson (R) helped guide the incoming traffic as well as make announcements throughout the evening.  He is shown here being handed a raffle ticket so he can announce the winning number. Good food.  Good conversation.  Good times.  The Taste of Farmville has it all!
