Cannon and Rob provided the entertainment. Cannon thinks back to his days on European street corners. In the words of Andy Griffith, Ethan Watson is his dad's manager. Looks like tough work there, Ethan. Cannon gives Dan his opinion of the night's program.
Kerby sees Cannon across the room and says, Cannon's wife, Lorrie, tells Cathy Dwyer and Sherri Marken to pretend they don't notice the squabble. Ethan, however, is highly amused by it. Sashi, meanwhile, saunters across the room to greet Karen and her husband, Rob. Stan Gemborys talks with Bob Frank and Marci Wall while his wife, Janyce, talks with Marci's son, Kenny Wolfe. Scott and Kerry curry favor with Machelle, Clerk of the Court.
Elegant setting, exceedingly fine food, and a warm family atmosphere made for a delightful evening. Mable was particularly pleased to have her husband, Frank, with her. We've kept them in our thoughts and prayers during this tough time. President Kerby, emcee for the evening, displayed his ocd tendencies time and again. Only he insists it should be cdo, in alphabetical order. Bob Jefferson presents Kerby a Paul Harris Fellow certificate, which no doubt is already framed and hung on Kerby's wall. Dan Dwyer also was recognized as a new Paul Harris Fellow.
Kerry Mossler won the Outstanding New Rotarian Award. Doug McClure won the Rotarian of the Year Award. Ralph Dews won the Honorary Rotarian Award. Ralph is very involved with the Prince Edward Farmville Youth Association (PEFYA), doing everything from mowing the grass to serving as president for 15 years. Ralph receiving his plaque from Kerby. New Paul Harris Fellows Kerby Moore, Frank Shanaberger, and Dan Dwyer. A Paul Harris Fellow designation represents a $1000 contribution to the Rotary Foundation. Mable, already a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, contributed a gift to make her husband a Paul Harris Fellow as well.
Five year awards went to Russell Dove, Bob Frank, Wendell Barbour, Kerby Moore, and Shashi Ayer. (Not pictured Doug McClure, Sam Shield, and Jim Neale.) A ten year award went to Jeff Smith. (Not pictured Greg Cole.) Fifteen year awards went to Cannon Watson, Mable Shanaberger, and Neil Humphreys. Twenty year awards went to Jon Marken, Bob Jefferson, and Dan Dwyer. (Not pictured Bill Dorrill.) Twenty-five year awards went to Wendell Barbour and Que Wilhelmi. (Not pictured Joe Zehner.)
A thirty year award went to Paul Hicks. (Not pictured Marshall Thackston and Scott Harwood. Also a thirty-five year award went to Bob Shelton, not pictured.) A forty year award went to Bill Frank!
