Cold hard rain couldn't keep these folks away, no indeed. What a turnout! Charley's beared all for the event and won Best Pro Chef. We are ever so grateful for all they do for Rotary. John Ellington glares at Randy for coming back so often. His Fuqua Catering booth was runner up for Best Pro Chef. Kerby explains to his daughter why styrofoam is such an environmental disaster. Jeff peers into the audience to see if anyone is listening. Actually everyone's still eating, because this was one great event. Way to go, Jeff!
Hampden-Sydney sent down to Texas for one outstanding batch of chili, which won Most Popular Chef along with the Ruritan Club. They said they came to work but we caught them grinning about how much they ate. Time for club censure, Dan and Paul. Bananas never tasted so good. We do hope the secret ingredient is legal. As Andy Griffith used to say, When Doug speaks, people listen...
... Actually Machelle and Russell only laughed. Aceys had a cool sign and hot chicken. Joe, watch that money! How much fell on the ground? Mary dishes out Frank's famous chili while he's away scouting out the competition. Sashi's hot Indian food was just the thing for a cold rainy night.
The library offered a variety of genres. Faith Bible Fellowship, newcomer to the event, tied with two others for best amateur. Scope/Meals on Wheels was another winner in the tie for best amateur. And Moton Museum was a winner as well for best amateur.
